Rural Track Elective Program
Fourth year rural electives are available in many specialties and locations. The Senior Rotation Catalog lists all available rural track electives. Electives precepted by physicians with MU School of Medicine faculty appointments are considered on-site rotations.
Students wanting to take a rural track elective(s) must fill out a Rural Track Elective Program Application to be considered for an elective placement.
Contact Sheila Marushak (882-5662) marushaks@health.missouri.edu with MU AHEC to discuss elective opportunities (specialty, training site, housing, course numbers, and preceptors).
Elective placements will be approved or denied by MU AHEC based on preceptor and/or housing availability.
Third year medical students participating in the Rural Track Clerkship Program receive priority placement for the primary care preceptors for the six clerkships in all rural training sites.
