Allergy & Rhinology

Allergy Overview

The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery offers comprehensive, multidisciplinary management of allergy and allergic disorders.

This includes:

  • Inhalant allergies (dust, molds, pollen, animals, weeds, trees, etc.)
  • Skin allergies
  • Asthma and reactive airway problems
  • Food allergies

The management team includes specialty-trained physicians, nurse practitioners and staff to help evaluate, diagnose and treat your allergic symptoms.

Patients suffering from itchy eyes and nose, runny eyes and nose, sneezing, post-nasal drip, nasal congestion, sinus infections, cough, wheezing, skin rashes or hives, or food sensitivities might benefit from a visit to our ENT and Allergy Clinic to improve their quality of life.

Every new patient referred to our ENT and Allergy Clinic will be seen by one of our physicians or Advanced Practice Nurse providers for an evaluation and will have a treatment plan created. This treatment may include environmental changes, laboratory studies, medication use, skin allergy testing and immunotherapy (allergy shots or sublingual treatment- i.e., allergy drops placed under the tongue).

Immunotherapy aims to change your body's response to non-threatening elements (such as dust, mold, pollen, animal, weeds, trees, etc.) and teach it how not to produce the allergic symptoms affecting your ears, eyes, nose, throat and lungs.

The diagnostic evaluation and treatment of patients with allergic problems is the beginning of a program of comprehensive management aiming to improve your allergic symptoms and restore your health to a higher quality of life.
