Wake Up About the Importance of Sleep

Do we really need to spend a third of our time sleeping? Is it related to health issues like obesity, stress, or anxiety? Why do we dream? These and many other questions about sleep can keep you awake.

Sleep expert and researcher Mahesh Thakkar, PhD, with the MU Department of Neurology answers these questions and more during his Saturday Morning Science lecture for community members. 


Missouri Sleep Apnea Support Group

The Sleep Disorders Center and Sleep Medicine Program at the University of Missouri - Health Care, welcomes your participation in the Missouri Sleep Apnea Support Group. The patients with sleep apnea and their family members are encouraged to participate and discuss the issues & challenges faced in treatment of sleep apnea. This will help everyone share and learn from their thoughts and experience, to tackle this important disease, sleep apnea.

The next support group meeting is Tuesday, August 9 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm in the Neurology Clinic at 1020 Hitt Street.  

Everyone is welcome - there is no need to RSVP.
