Mohan Named Silver Fellow by National Ophthalmology Organization


Researcher recognized for leadership and contributions to nanomedicine

Rajiv Mohan, PhD, a professor in the University of Missouri School of Medicine’s Department of Ophthalmology, has been named a 2014 Silver Fellow by the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) for his contributions to eye research, including nanomedicine therapies to treat corneal diseases. He will be honored at the 2014 ARVO annual meeting May 8 in Orlando, Fla.

Mohan, who also serves as the Ruth M. Kraeuchi Endowed Professor in Veterinary Ophthalmology in the MU College of Veterinary Medicine, was recognized for his accomplishments in eye research, in addition to his leadership and contributions to the ophthalmology association. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and six book chapters, and he has presented his work at national and international eye research conferences. Mohan received his doctorate degree in medicinal chemistry from the University of Lucknow in India.

The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology is the world’s largest eye and vision research organization with more than 12,750 members from more than 80 countries. Its mission is to facilitate the advancement of vision research and the prevention and cure of vision disorders worldwide.
