MU Medical Students Shave Heads to Raise Funds for Cancer Research

Kickoff event begins efforts which raises thousands for pediatric cancer

University of Missouri medical students will host a kick off event from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014, at Acuff Gallery in MU’s medical school, for their St. Baldrick’s fundraiser to support childhood cancer research. The students will hold a raffle for the chance to shave the head of Mike McCullough, MD, an assistant professor of obstetrics, gynecology and women’s health in the MU School of Medicine. Raffle tickets will cost $1 each, or $4 for five.

The medical students’ St. Baldrick’s fundraising event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Mojo’s, located at 1013 Park Avenue in Columbia, which will include games and activities for kids, live music, and dozens of others will have their heads shaved to support childhood cancer research.
