University of Missouri Department of Orthopaedic Surgery physicians and staff are dedicated to providing excellent care for musculoskeletal disorders. Our board-certified surgeons are fellowship-trained in specific areas of orthopaedics. The following are examples of our specialty services.
Hip and knee / total joint replacement
Our hip and knee surgeons are among the most experienced orthopaedic surgeons in mid-Missouri. Our surgeons focus on developing key future techniques and technologies in hip and knee surgery -- and usually are the first to perform new techniques in mid-Missouri.
The Missouri Spine Center is a full-spectrum spine clinic, providing both non-surgical and surgical treatments for patients with spine deformities as well as painful back and neck conditions.
Foot and ankle
Our physicians manage all diseases and injuries to the foot and ankle using both operative
and non-operative techniques.
Hand and upper extremity
Our hand and upper extremity surgeons care for acute injuries and chronic conditions of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulders.
Pediatric orthopaedics
Our pediatric orthopaedic specialists collaborate with colleagues in Children’s Hospital to apply a team approach that addresses young patients’ medical, social and emotional needs. Areas of specialized care include scoliosis, cerebral palsy, skeletal dysplasia, clubfoot, and neuromuscular diseases.
Sports medicine
Our orthopaedic sports medicine physicians provide non-surgical and surgical treatments as well as collaborate with a certified athletic trainer, radiologists, casting specialists and pharmacists to offer a comprehensive service for athletes.
Trauma
Our orthopaedic trauma team is a key component of University Hospital’s Level I Trauma Center. The surgeons care for isolated simple fractures as well as specializing in complex joint and pelvis fractures, nonunions, and malunions. Our trauma physician team is on call to evaluate and treat emergencies when needed.
General orthopaedics
Our general orthopaedics physicians see patients to evaluate and care for a wide variety of orthopaedic injuries and diseases.
