11th Annual Health Policy Summit Focuses on Health Care Reform

As Missouri and the nation begin enrolling citizens in the health insurance marketplace, leading health care reform and health information technology thinkers will converge on Columbia for the 11th annual Missouri Health Policy Summit. Hosted by the University of Missouri Center for Health Policy, the summit, "Moving Beyond Politics: Meaningful Health Reform for Missouri Communities," will take place from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at the Hilton Garden Inn Conference Center at 3300 Vandiver Drive in Columbia.

Navigators and the Online Health Insurance Marketplace

The Center for Health Policy at the University of Missouri (CHP) announces its new Health Literacy Quality Improvement Module for physicians. The year-long program provides health care professionals and their practices the tools they need to communicate effectively with patients, family members, and caregivers. Successful graduates of the program earn board certification credits and create customized tools to improve patients’ health and understanding, which in turn improves patient satisfaction with their health care.

Center Awarded New Contract for Meaningful Analysis on Medicaid Claims Data

MOHEC Regional Mtg Announced for Columbia

Join members of the Missouri Health Equity Collaborative (MOHEC) for a new regional meeting, "Building Health Equity in Mid-Missouri," on September 19th in Columbia. Participants include representatives from Photovoice Missouri, a youth-driven advocacy project in communities around the state; PedNet, a nonprofit organization working to build more healthy and active communities in the region, and from MOHEC itself, which will share recent findings from studies with newcomer populations and Missourians who have experienced mental illness.
