Will you shave your head to support childhood cancer research? Join Dr. Thomas Loew, director of the division of hematology and oncology at MU's Department of Child Health and Children's Hospital. He's pledged to shave his head to raise money for childhood cancer research.
The University of Missouri School of Medicine is supporting MU Children's Hospital and the St. Baldrick's Foundation in the 2013 St. Baldrick's cancer research fundraising event, which is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Mojo's, 1013 Park Avenue in Columbia.
Along with Dr. Loew at this student-organized event, dozens of additional faculty and staff members, medical students and community supporters will shave their heads to raise money for pediatric cancer patients.
Head shaving teams are forming now. Unable to participate? Come out to support the head shavees or donate in the name of a participant. Donors will receive a letter confirming their donation for tax purposes.
