Formal & Informal Training

The Missouri Telehealth Network (MTN) provides formal and informal training to new and existing members of the network.

In a more formal setting MTN has hosted many two-day, training conferences.  Over 500 people have attended these programs.  These training sessions provide attendees with an overview of telehealth which includes technological, clinical, educational, legislative and administrative aspects of telehealth.  Attendees also learn how telehealth is used in different specialties (endocrinology, dermatology, psychiatry, autism, etc.) and receive hands-on training of the telehealth equipment.  New members of MTN are required to send staff to the training.  At the end of each conference attendees receive a certificate of completion and a bound copy of the programs curriculum to keep as a source of reference.

MTN provides training to new and existing members on an informal basis as well.  Each time a new telehealth site is added to the network or a new site coordinator is appointed at an existing site, the MTN staff provides hands-on equipment training for the new person or persons. Also, a resource manual is given to the new site to use for a reference. The manual includes a guide to using videoconferencing equipment, auxiliary store and forward cameras, video etiquette and basic troubleshooting.
