MU medical students study respiration and heart impulses in 1897.



MU School of Medicine Dean Andrew McAlester, MD. He led the school from 1883 to 1909.



MU School of Medicine faculty and students, including the school's first woman graduate, Anna Searcy, who received a medical degree from MU in 1900.

Professor Hugh Stephenson Jr., MD, Class of 1943, left, and medical student Jefferson Davis, MD, Class of 1957, perform surgery at MU. Davis' class was the first to complete the medical degree program MU established in 1955.



University Hospital opened in 1956.



MU's medical school building opened as part of University Hospital in 1956.



Ellis Fischel Cancer Center opened in 1940.
