The Missouri Cancer Registry and Research Center is pleased to offer the following resources for the education of Missouri registrars.
FLccSC
(“Flossie”) is a learning management system full of educational opportunities! It is currently funded by NPCR and was developed under a grant to the Florida and South Carolina central registries. It gives you access to recorded educational webinars from MCR, NAACCR and NPCR as well as educational resources from other state registries. Because it is national, it can also give us access to future resources developed by other states that sign on to this new system and share their training materials.
To start, click on “Flossie” to “Submit your Registration” by creating a profile and password. Babette Langeneckert will get that info and approve any registrar who lives or works in Missouri.
After that approval, you should be able to enter the site, choose from available courses, enroll, and enter the webinars. Some have quizzes and many carry CEUs. It issues certificates of completion and tracks your completed courses on a list, making it easier to enter that info on the NCRA CE website. There is a User’s Manual. The Help button sends messages to the Florida website programmer re: website problems or desired enhancements. Babette Langeneckert can also answer your questions about content. There is a report function that tabulates quiz results should you want documentation for your manager.

MCR has a YouTube channel!
Educational videos presented by the Missouri Cancer Registry are available on YouTube on a number of cancer reporting topics. These short videos educate the cancer registrar on Coding Benign CNS Tumors, Death Clearance, Diagnosis & Screening of Prostate Cancer, SSDI’s required in Missouri, Coding Tumor Size Summary, Cancer Registry Text, and Abbreviations for Abstractors. Search YouTube with MCR to view videos on the channel.

NAACCR Webinars
The Missouri Cancer Registry and Research Center (MCR) is pleased to provide access to recorded versions of these webinars at no cost to registrars. These recordings are valuable educational tools which provide comprehensive training, particularly for those webinars that are disease-specific, since information on anatomy, histology, coding, multiple primary/histology coding. Exercises, quizzes, questions and answers are also included. Three (3) NCRA CE credits per webinar are available. Recordings are posted on FLccSC by the third week of the month.
AJCC Webinars
In preparation for the transition to directly assigned AJCC staging, the AJCC would like to remind the registrar community of a very important resource. There are 10 webinars based on the current AJCC Cancer Staging Manual 8th Edition content are available for free. While these webinars were recorded a few years ago, the information is as accurate and relevant as ever. The lectures encompass a variety of topics and are presented by AJCC physician experts. The target audience is physicians and cancer registrars.
