From the Program Director

I invite you to consider joining the University of Missouri OB/GYN residency program for this, the most important part of your medical training. You cannot find a more dedicated group of educators willing to share their knowledge and experience with you.

Our educational program is innovative. Our surgical experience is generous and progressive. We were one of the first programs in the country to develop a formal procedural simulation curriculum and one of the first to graduate residents fully credentialed in minimally invasive robotic surgery.

We provide a safe environment, immense practical experience, and personal support as you plan for a career after residency. MU OB/GYN residency graduates transition easily into private practice or into a competitive fellowship position, depending on their career goals.

The program is located in Columbia, Missouri, which has previously been as high as second place in Money Magazine’s “Best Place to Live.” Most of the conveniences of a large cosmopolitan city are available in our modest university town, minus the rush-hour traffic. As a beekeeper and avid gardener, I greatly appreciate the Midwest soil and four distinct seasons, including a long, temperate spring and fall.

I am fortunate to work with a group of physician educators who are passionate about their calling to teach. Moreover, each one of our current residents is exceptionally strong and motivated to teach and to learn. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates to continue this tradition. Consider interviewing with us, explore our program firsthand, and let us get to know you. I think that you will be glad you did.

Warm regards,
