"My experience with the GHSP enabled a global perspective on healthcare systems and continues to support me in treating a variety of patients from culturally diverse backgrounds. I feel honored to be able to apply these skills regularly through my position as a healthcare provider."

"GHSP was a great opportunity for learning many aspects of global health and how to incorporate that experience into residency and my future career. For me personally, learning about ethical and sustainable international global health service was incredibly important. I am planning to apply to the global health pathway at my residency program which focuses on global health research rather than on medical service, but also to continue international medical service in my future career. GHSP prepared me for both goals with education events, immersion experiences and my capstone project. I am so happy to see how the program has grown and how much it has impacted those who have graduated and also the students currently completing the program."

“Through the GHSP, I have been able to engage in other countries’ healthcare systems and form relationships with international medical students and patient populations. I am hopeful that these experiences have given me the skillset to better care for culturally diverse and underserved patients at both the individual and population levels.”

“The Global Health Scholars Program at Mizzou Med has given me the exposure, skills, and confidence to pursue a career in global mental health. Through the research, international experience, and leadership opportunities I had with GHSP, my understanding of the needs and challenges of serving a global patient population has grown and as a result, I know that I am a more competent and compassionate physician.”
