The MU Health Professions Summit is a three-day experience for Missouri high school students interested in health careers. During the Summit, students preview what it’s like to be a college student in the health professions at MU. Students participate in hands-on activities and information sessions taught by MU faculty and staff. In the sessions, students learn about careers in medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, ultrasonography, speech-language pathology, audiology and many more.
The summit experience helps dispel anxiety about being a college student on a large campus. Students experience college life by staying in the residence halls, eating in the dining facilities and discovering recreational opportunities. Students receive information regarding admissions and financial aid and have opportunities to network with current health professions faculty, staff and students.
The summit is sponsored by the University of Missouri Area Health Education Centers (MU AHEC) in collaboration with the MU School of Medicine, the MU School of Health Professions and the MU Sinclair School of Nursing.
