Iris Zachary is an Assistant Research Professor with a focus on cancer informatics. She received her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Informatics at the University of Missouri. She has collaborated with nationally recognized leaders in cancer research and has presented her research at regional, national and international meetings of, among others, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the National Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR), the World Cancer Congress (WCC), the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) and the American Public Health Association (APHA). Dr. Zachary's cancer research collaboration aids in the study of cancer diagnoses patterns and evaluation of cancer prevention plans.

In addition to her role as Director Emeritus of the Missouri Cancer Registry and Research Center (MCR-ARC), Dr. Jackson-Thompson is a Research Associate Professor in the University of Missouri-Columbia (MU) School of Medicine’s Department of Health Management and Informatics and is core faculty in the University of Missouri Informatics Institute. From 1996 until 2002, she was Chief, Office of Surveillance, Research and Evaluation, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and was involved in drafting the plan that led to outsourcing surveillance operations (MCR and the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System) to MU in 1999. Dr. Jackson-Thompson currently serves as the Voting Delegate to the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR) and the International Association of Cancer Registries (IARC). She chairs the NAACCR Uniform Data Standards Committee and serves on a variety of NAACCR committees and work groups (e.g., Cancer Registration Steering Committee, Change Management Work Group, Data Use and Research Committee, Data Evaluation and Certification Committee). Dr. Jackson-Thompson serves on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Program of Cancer Registries AERRO (Advancing E-cancer Reporting and Registry Operations) Work Group. She is also a member of the American Public Health Association and its Health Informatics/Information Technology and epidemiology sections; National Association of Cancer Registrars; Missouri State Cancer Registrars Association; and the Missouri Cancer Consortium where she chairs the Data and Surveillance Subcommittee. Current grant/contract support includes a central cancer registry operations contract with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services; two ARRA-funded projects to enhance cancer registry data for comparative effectiveness research; and an osteosarcoma surveillance study.

Lucinda Ham joined MCR in 2021, as Quality Assurance Supervisor. She graduated from Stephens College in 1991 with a Bachelor’s in Health Information Management.   Lucinda has 32 years of experience in Health Information Management in the hospital setting which included Cancer Registry. Lucinda has been a CTR since 2004. Lucinda is an active member of NCRA and MoSTRA.

Nishant Jain joined MCR in April 2020 as a Database Administrator (DBA). Nishant earned an MHA with a graduate certificate in Health Informatics from the University of Missouri. Nishant has worked as an HMI intern at the Washington University, School of Medicine in St. Louis and as a graduate research assistant with the Family and Community Medicine (FCM) at University of Missouri. He has ten years’ experience working as a Software Support Analyst within the University of Missouri System - Office of Intellectual Property Administration. Nishant also has a lean six sigma green belt certification (LSSGB) from the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE). He is a member of the Healthcare Information & Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA).

Vishwa Bhayani joined MCR in January 2022 after completing her master's in Health Informatics from the Department of Health Management and Informatics at the University of Missouri. Vishwa has worked as a graduate research assistant with the Health Management and Informatics, and Family and Community Medicine at University of Missouri. Christine came to Missouri by way of Maine where she worked for a law firm after graduation from college. She spent 25 years working for the University of Missouri, most of those years with the College of Agriculture. She retired in 2005. Christine has enjoyed working part-time for MCR-ARC for the past two years, primarily assisting the Data Collection and Processing unit. She also enjoys visiting with her daughter, son-in-law and granddog (Charlotte), biking, walking, reading, attending movies, concerts, plays, and traveling.
