Sue Boren, PhD, MHA is Professor and Director of Academic Programs, Department of Health Management and Informatics, School of Medicine, University of Missouri. Dr. Boren builds her work around two themes 1) Consumer Health Informatics, and 2) Health Informatics and Health Administration Pedagogy / Andragogy. She uses informatics to improve patient outcomes and student learning outcomes. In addition, she has co-authored more than 80 articles in the field of health informatics on decision support technologies including peer-comparison feedback, reminders, telemedicine/distance technologies, computerized/eHealth/mobile health information services, and interactive patient education/management of chronic illness. Two of the articles have been recognized by the Yearbook of the International Medical Informatics Association as among the best medical informatics studies. Dr. Boren has a history of service. Most notable were chair of the CAHIIM Health Informatics Accreditation Council, executive committee member of the AMIA Academic Forum, and Graduate Faculty Senate President at the University of Missouri.
