During 12 months of intensive Urgent Care training, PA/FNP Fellows will rotate in two Urgent Care locations, two Emergency Medicine locations with experiences including pediatrics and Fast Track, and have off-service rotations for a well-rounded educational focus to enhance knowledge necessary for a broad understanding in Urgent Care medicine.
Urgent Care will have special focus on:
- Burn/Wound management
- Pediatrics
- Orthopedics
- Ophthalmology
- Ultrasound & minor procedures
- Splinting/Casting
Off-service rotations will include:
- Point of care Ultrasound
- ENT
- Pediatric Emergency Medicine
- Rural ED
Procedure experience will consist of:
- Ultrasounds
- Simple & Complex Laceration repairs
- I&D
- Splint application
- Slit Lamp Exam
- Foreign Body Removal
- Digital Blocks
- Dental Blocks
- Fracture Reductions
