Research applications for the Robert B. Gordon Arthritis Research Fellowship are due April 15, 2013. This fellowship is designed to provide funding for post-doctoral training in research aimed at helping the billions of people, companion animals, and horses affected with arthritis. Successful applicants for this position will be individuals who have completed doctoral degree programs (DVM, PhD, DO and/or MD) and have an interest and focus in arthritis research. The fellowship will be a 1–3 year program involving basic science and/or clinical research. The fellow will work in the Comparative Orthopaedic Laboratory full-time and will have access to experience in the University Medical and Veterinary Medical Hospitals and Clinics. The COL will provide salary and benefits commensurate with the fellow’s experience and abilities ($20–35K). In addition, funding for pilot projects will be provided. The fellow will be expected to do the following:
- Design, initiate, and complete original research projects in the area of arthritis that complement the research foci of the COL.
- Submit proposals for competitive, extramural funding for the research.
- Present data at national and international meetings.
