Julie Kapp, PhD, Health Management and Informatics (HMI) associate professor, received a new National Institute of Health (NIH) pilot grant. She also published an article about the most ideal model to coordinate community services with masters of health management (MHA) alums, Sara E. Schlemper and Riyad Haq, and HMI Chair, Eduardo J. Simoes, MD.
Kapp also has another paper ready for publication. Additionally, she is leading an initiative to teach population health management to masters of health administration students to prepare future health care leaders in how to improve the health of patient populations and the community.
Kapp's research spans the fields of epidemiology, public health, health program and policy evaluation, health promotion, and disease prevention – particularly cancer. Her focus across all of these fields is bridged by her interests related to a balanced quality and quantity of life.
