University of Missouri students with the Thompson Laboratory for Regenerative Orthopaedics and the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute presented abstracts and research at the University of Missouri’s annual Show Me Research week held from April 17-23, 2023.
One student, Umer Mallick, won an award for his abstract titled, “Regional differences in cartilage biomarker content related to histological assessment of tissue degradation.” As part of the award, Mallick will receive an invitation to publish his work in Artifacts Journal, a publication dedicated to publishing undergraduate work at the University of Missouri.
In total, 19 posters were presented at this year’s event. This included one graduate student and 18 undergraduate students. There were nine students presenting for the first time.
Show Me Research week is held as a celebration of our research community that nurtures and supports thousands of students who are learning to become a new generation of thinkers, problem solvers and innovators.
