Murray Joins Editorial Board for Urology Journal

Katie Murray, DO, assistant professor of urology at the MU School of Medicine, will serve as deputy editor for the journal Urology, one of the leading urology research publications in the world.

Murray will serve as the deputy editor for the urological oncology section of the journal, reviewing all papers in that specialty submitted for publication.

“I have the opportunity to review upcoming research by individuals that are leading the field of urological oncology,” Murray said. “By reviewing these submissions and assisting in commentary, I hope to improve my own project design and writing skills to allow for more research to improve patients’ lives.”

According to an article The Journal of Urology published earlier this year, before Murray’s selection, only 20 of the 418 urology journal board members worldwide were women.
