Kylee Rucinski received the 2023 Littlejohn Legacy Award, which was established to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Robert Littlejohn by supporting orthopaedic learners in pursuit of advances that change healthcare for the better.
“I have known of and been thankful for the investments the Littlejohn family has made in research at MOI,” Rucinski said. “Dr. Littlejohn truly represented a pioneer physician who saw the big picture, working hard his entire life to make the world better for his orthopaedic patients. Receiving this award in honor of a physician (and his amazing family) I respect so much means more than words can say. I look forward to using it to continue to move forward Dr. and Mrs. Littlejohn’s vision for patient-centered research that leads to life-changing orthopaedic patient care.”
In addition to the recognition, Rucinski also received a $3000 monetary award to support the recipient’s orthopaedic training and/or research. The award will be funded through the Cook Family Orthopaedic Research Endowment. Further donations to this award can be sent to the MU Advancement Office at the following address:
