Joshua Stilley, MD, associate professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine, was recently appointed chair of the State Advisory Council on Emergency Medical Services by Missouri Gov. Mike Parson. The advisory committee proposes policies and regulations to advance EMS in Missouri.
Stilley currently serves as the chief of MU’s Emergency Medical Services division. He is also the state chapter vice president of the National Association of EMS Physicians.
“There are thousands of talented and dedicated EMS clinicians across Missouri who work tirelessly to provide exceptional emergency care,” said Stilley. “Being entrusted with the position of chair of this council is a profound honor and recognition of my commitment to this mission.”
Prior to joining MU, Stilley served as clinical assistant professor of emergency medicine at University of Iowa Health Care. In 2017, he was inducted into the Iowa EMS Association Hall of Fame for his contributions to the organization.
Stilley completed his residency in emergency medicine in 2013 from the University of Iowa. He earned a Doctor of Medicine in 2010 from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Additionally, Stilley earned a Bachelor of Science in biology and economics in 2006 from Iowa State University.
