The Thompson family paid a visit to the lab during this year’s 22nd annual Comparative Orthopaedics Day held by the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute. This year’s visit included Bill and Nancy Thompson, and their three children, Bruna Thompson, Emily Krout and Bill Thompson III.

Don and Victoria Thompson were also in attendance at the event. Their visit included a tour of the facility and a glimpse into the work being done by researchers.

The Thompson Lab was endowed with a $3 million gift from the Thompson Foundation, created by Bill and Nancy Thompson. This generous donation enabled researchers to work within a comprehensive, state-of-the-art laboratory facility now housed in the same center where health care professionals treat patients. The Thompson Lab was built in 2014 as a nearly 12,000-square-foot facility where clinicians work alongside researchers in an innovative and collaborative setting to develop and validate the newest and best ways to provide the optimal orthopaedic care to patients.
