TLRO and Mizzou Spine Team Present at International Spine Research Symposium

Dr. Naomi Lee and Dr. Jimi Cook

The Thompson Lab and Mizzou Spine Team were well represented at the Orthopaedic Research Society International Spine Research Symposium in Skytop Pennsylvania, November 3-7, 2019.

Dr. Naomi Lee (left) presented original research titled “Development of a Translational Canine Model of Human Intervertebral Disc Degeneration.” Lee’s travel was supported by the Douglas D. Randall Young Scientists travel scholarship award. Dr. Jimi Cook (right) was invited faculty and presented “Dogs Get Low Back Pain from Degenerative Disc Disease?”

The purpose of the symposium was to disseminate state-of-the-art research, enhance scientific discourse and promote collaborations in the field of intervertebral disc biology and biomechanics, spine health, aging and degeneration.
