Happy Holidays Graphic

Dear Colleagues,

The holiday season affords us the opportunity to learn about and respect each other’s traditions. Did you know that in December, there are more than 15 religious and cultural observances and celebrations marked across the globe?

Our health system includes a diverse workforce with many different backgrounds and traditions. As we celebrate the holidays, I would encourage you to do so with compassion for all. The ways in which each of us celebrate may not be the same, but that is part of the beauty of who we are.

Across our health system, we are striving to create a community of belonging and compassion, a place where people know, care about and take care of one another. Each of us play an important role in growing and sustaining a belonging and inclusive environment to work, learn and live, all based on compassion to each other.

In the health care professions, it is our mission to save and improve lives no matter the race, religion, or background of the individual. At MU Health Care and the MU School of Medicine, we need to model the behaviors of tolerance and compassion as we carry out our mission.

Wishing you and your loved ones happy holidays and a peaceful New Year!

Sincerely,

Rick Barohn, MD
