The 13th Annual Comparative Orthopaedics Day (CO Day ) is Friday, April 26, presented by MU’s Comparative Orthopaedic Laboratory and the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. CO Day was developed to provide scientists and clinicians with a forum for presentation and discussion of orthopaedic research.
This year’s featured speaker is Dr. Tim Hewett, a world-renowned pioneer and internationally recognized expert in the area of injury prevention, with a special focus on ACL risk factor research. Dr. Hewett is the Director of Sports Medicine and Research and a Professor of Physiology and Cell Biology, Orthopaedics, Family Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, and Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Ohio State University. He has built a unique program that bridges basic science to clinical application using a multidisciplinary approach, setting the standard for translational orthopaedics. In addition to publishing over 200 peer-reviewed articles with more than 13,000 citations, he has authored a book and several book chapters and received the NCAA’s Excellence in Research Award, the AOSSM O’Donoghue Award, and the APTA Rose Excellence in Research Award, among others.
