Kei Kuroki, DVM, PhD, DACVP and Aaron Stoker, PhD, were recently promoted to full professor.
In 1993, Dr. Kuroki completed a doctorate in veterinary medicine at the Nihon University in Kanagawa, Japan. In 2003, he received a PhD in Pathobiology from the University of Missouri. In 2007, he completed his residency in Anatomic Pathology at Kansas State University and returned to Missouri. Kuroki has expertise in pathological analyses and interpretations of naturally occurring and induced bone and joint diseases, especially in the phase of pre-clinical animal model studies. He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed journal publications and has received more than $5 million as co-investigator for industry and government-sponsored studies.
In 2004, Dr. Stoker received his PhD in pathobiology from the University of Missouri. Currently, he is the Associate Director of the Thompson Lab and has spent the past 18 years developing extensive expertise in the pathobiology and biomarkers of orthopaedic disease. Stoker has developed numerous models that provide vital information regarding the response of joint tissue to various stimuli and the role of these tissues in the development and regression of orthopaedic disorders. He has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed articles, and in 2018, he was awarded the University of Missouri’s Outstanding Undergraduate Research Mentor of the Year.
Both Kuroki and Stoker were mentored by Dr. Jimi Cook. Congratulations!
