Drs. Jimi Cook, Pat Smith, Jim Stannard, Ferris Pfeiffer, Cristi Cook, and Kei Kuroki recently received a grant from Arthrex to study the latest technique for ACL surgery—double bundle reconstruction using suspension fixation.  The research team developed a novel all-arthroscopic model in dogs to effectively test this technique for human application, while helping our four-legged patients at the same time.  This month (April 2013) the first-ever procedures were successfully performed in dogs, and within this calendar year we will know if this technique will provide a better solution for patients around the world.
