The Missouri Orthopaedic Institute’s 23rd annual Comparative Orthopaedics Day held on April 7, 2023 was another successful event! The day kicked off with a keynote presentation by Ben Nowell PhD, MSW, Director of Patient-Centered Research at the Global Healthy Living Foundation (GHLF) and Creakyjoints®.
Dr. Nowell's presentation titled, “Engaging Patients and Providers in Remote Monitoring for Clinical Care and Generation of Prospective Longitudinal Data” addressed the use of mobile apps and wearable devices for patient data collection, shared-decision making and patient treatment satisfaction.
This year, Kylee Rucinski received the Littlejohn Legacy Award, which was established in 2013 to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Robert Littlejohn by supporting orthopaedic learners in pursuit of advances that change healthcare for the better. Additionally, Stacee Baker, former Director of Research Operations at the MOI, was recognized with the Making a Difference Award for her contributions to the department’s mission and success, and her leadership in building a united team dedicated to evidence-based patient care.
