Three surgeons recently presented talks related to joint preservation procedures performed at the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute (MOI) at the Arthroscopy Association of North America’s (AANA) annual meeting in New Orleans.
James Stannard, MD, Chair of Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Steven DeFroda, MD, Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, and Clayton Nuelle, MD, Assistant Professor of Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, were among the presenters.
Nuelle’s presentation titled, “Combined Knotless All Suture Anchor and Cortical Button Fixation For Meniscal Allograft Transplantation” won the award for Best Orthoregeneration Pearl & Technique. The award was given by Orthoregeneration Network for Nuelle’s new technique developed at the MOI.
Stannard led a debate-and-discussion style presentation titled, “Osteochondral allograft transplantation: lessons learned” and DeFroda shared his insight through his presentation titled, “Technique for a Ripstop Meniscal Root Repair”.
