Six resident physicians represented the MU Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the 2023 Mid-America Orthopaedic Association meeting in Miramar, FL. Michael Ewing, MD, Year 5 Resident, presented one of a handful of award-winning podium papers at the meeting.
Residents Annie Yen, MD, Conor Smith, MD, Lasun Oladeji, MD, Sam Gieg, MD; and incoming resident and current medical student Kevin Horner also presented at the meeting. This year’s meeting was attended by more than 400 medical students, residents, fellows and attending surgeons, and had more than 600 participants including exhibitors. The annual meeting includes instructional courses, plenary sessions, symposia, ask the expert sessions, breakout subspecialty-oriented sessions, and posters.
Mid-America Orthopaedic Association is the regional orthopaedic society for 20 states in the region. The society aims to provide high-quality education, support, and networking opportunities for musculoskeletal professionals.
