James Stannard, MD and Mauricio Kfuri, MD, PhD led the “Advanced Principles on the Management of Knee Disorders” course February 21-23 in Miami, Florida.
The course was sponsored and supported by AO North America, AO Foundation, and AOTrauma Latin America and was designed to explore the multiple facets of the knee and how to make decisions based on patients’ needs. Fractures, sports related injuries, deformities and degenerative changes of the joint were approached by faculty leaders in the field of knee surgery. This was the first time that an AO-sponsored course offered practical exercises with anatomical specimens in the areas of knee arthroscopy, arthroplasty and osteotomies. The course was a success and attracted international participants from Latin America, North America, Germany and India.
