Matthew Hirabayashi, a second-year University of Missouri medical student, was recognized for his exceptional summer research work under Emily Leary, PhD, at the Thompson Laboratory for Regenerative Orthopaedics and Missouri Orthopaedic Institute.
Hirabayashi is co-author on two poster presentations for Health Sciences Day on Nov. 9 and is the presenter and primary author on one of them. He is co-author of three planned peer-review journal articles from his summer work, and he is first author on one of them. During the summer, Hirabayashi also mentored an undergraduate pre-med student and managed three undergraduates as part of his research project.
