In March 2023, Dr. Dylan Nugent and MU orthopedic resident Pierre Schwab, MD, ventured on a mission trip to Haiti to the Centre de Santé Lumière Hospital. The goal of the mission was to provide assistance to Dr. Hughes Lami who is the local orthopaedic surgeon.

In January 2023, pediatric orthopedic surgeon Dr. Gupta and MU senior resident Dr. Matthew Resnick joined a mission trip to India comprised of surgical teams from Missouri, Texas, Minnesota, as well as Switzerland and Germany. In all, 65 children were able to receive surgery, with a variety of subspecialists including orthopaedics, spinal, general, and urological surgeons.
