Community Practice family medicine residents are appropriately challenged with training and learning experiences designed to prepare them for independent practice. All required rotations take place in Jefferson City except as noted in the curriculum below.
First Year (PRG1)
- Emergency Medicine - 4 weeks
- Family Medicine (rural and suburban clinic options) - 4 weeks
- General Surgery - 4 weeks
- Inpatient Medicine/Critical Care - 8 weeks
- Outpatient Pediatrics - 4 weeks
- Sports Medicine - 4 weeks
- Urgent Care - 4 weeks
- Outpatient OB/GYN - 4 weeks
- Geriatrics - 4 weeks
- OB/GYN with Labor & Delivery - 4 weeks
Second Year (PRG2)
- Emergency Medicine - 4 weeks
- Ortho/Podiatry - 4 weeks
- Inpatient Medicine/Critical Care - 8 weeks
- Inpatient Pediatrics - 4 weeks (University Hospital, 7th floor)
- OB/GYN (Labor & Delivery vs Outpatient, depending on resident interest) - 4 weeks
- Practice Management - 4 weeks
- Outpatient Pediatrics - 4 weeks
- Electives (Chosen by resident, approved by PD) - 8 weeks
Third Year (PRG3)
- Community Health - 4 weeks
- Emergency Medicine - 4 weeks
- Geriatrics - 4 weeks (University Hospital)
- Inpatient Medicine/Critical Care - 8 weeks
- OB/GYN with Labor & Delivery - 4 weeks
- Outpatient Pediatrics - 4 weeks
