The University of Missouri School of Medicine has been improving health, education and research since 1872. MU physicians treat patients from every county in the state, and more Missouri physicians received their medical degrees from MU than any other university.
The School of Medicine’s more than 650 faculty physicians and scientists educate approximately 1,100 medical students, residents, fellows and graduate students each year. Their research is focused on lifesaving discoveries that address the most prevalent health problems.
The School of Medicine’s vision is simple: to be a transformational leader in improving health. There has never been a more important time than today for your support to make a difference in what we are able to accomplish. Thank you for giving to the MU School of Medicine.
Featured Giving Opportunities
Medical School Scholarship Fund
Our students consistently list financial aid offered as one of the top reasons they chose Mizzou. Scholarships allow us to recruit the best and brightest medical students. Even with financial aid, the average debt for our medical students upon graduation is more than $170,000. Financial assistance is essential to the many students who might otherwise be unable to afford the dream of becoming a physician. In 2020, 66 percent of our students received an average scholarship of $7,500. We must increase the number and size of these scholarships to remain competitive in attracting the very best future physicians.
Dean’s Fund for Excellence
This fund provides the flexibility to allocate funding to our highest priorities and actively advance the mission of the school. Funds provide assistance for student scholarships as well as many other important initiatives that help us stand out from our competitors.
MedZou Endowment Fund
MedZou Community Health Clinic is a student-operated medical clinic that provides free primary health care. The clinic’s mission is to provide high-quality, patient-centered care for uninsured residents of Central Missouri, while educating health care students about working with underserved populations. Donations support the clinic's week-to-week needs as well as its continued development and growth with specialty clinics.
