The admissions committee highly encourages Mizzou Med applicants to keep all required coursework as a letter grade. However, if this is not an option at your institution, applicants will not be penalized for taking our required coursework as pass/fail for the Spring 2021 semester only.
The admissions committee is aware that applications for entering class 2022 and beyond will look different than in the past due to limited volunteer, shadowing, and direct-patient care experiences brought on by the pandemic. We still encourage students to do the best they can to give these experiences among other things to be a competitive applicant.
Admitted Mizzou medical students are currently required to have the COVID-19 vaccine unless granted a medical or religious exemption.
If any further adjustments are made to deadlines, coursework, or requirements due to COVID-19, we will continue to update our website with the latest information.
The Lester R. Bryant Scholars Pre-Admissions Program encourages young people from rural backgrounds to pursue a medical education.
Students accepted into the pre-admission program are offered acceptance into the MU School of Medicine on the condition that they achieve certain academic standards, demonstrate ongoing professionalism, and participate in required activities. See the application requirements.
Students who matriculate to the University of Missouri School of Medicine through the Bryant Scholars Pre-Admissions Program also have curricular requirements while attending medical school.
All applicants are required to sign a statement of intent acknowledging their commitment to the Bryant Scholars Pre-Admissions Program and the MU Rural Scholars Program.
