Biorepository Contact and Staff

Jennifer currently works as the Supervisor of the MU One Health Biorepository, and has been at the university since 2006. Her experiences include tissue collection and processing, performing nucleic isolations, bisulfite sequencing, cell culture, cloning, PCR/QPCR, western blots, CPG arrays, cell separations, and immunohistochemistry.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinates and administers research activities.
• Responsible for project planning and ensures that the work scope, study protocol, and regulatory requirements are followed.
• Develops and maintains recordkeeping systems and procedures.
• Plans and coordinates research study protocol and the establishment of operating policies and procedures.
• Primary contact for internal and external requests.
• Direct and manage the day-to-day activities of staff engaged in the implementation of research/clinical protocols and legal requests.
• Ensures the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and data collection activities.
• Monitors the progress of research activities.
• Develops and maintains records of research activities.
• Preparation, preservation and oversee storage of human and animal specimens.
• Order laboratory supplies
• Review investigator IRB documentation.
• Ensure laboratory is compliant with the IRB, University’s hospitals, University Environmental Health and Safety, and federal guidelines.
• Billing associated with requests.

Suzanne graduated with a Master's degree from the University of Missouri in 1994. She has been with the University of Missouri for over 20 years, and has over 30 years working in research laboratories.

Proficient in: Protein isolation, recombinant protein production, Western blots, PCR, real-time PCR, cloning, ELISA, cell culture, IHC, tissue processing and sectioning.
