One of the benefits of being a multidisciplinary center is the opportunity for collaboration. Individually we collaborate with faculty and researchers in the School of Medicine, School of Nursing and School of Health Professions in mentoring, educational and research activities.

Representatives from the Schools of Nursing and Journalism, Departments of Surgery and Health Management and Informatics in the School of Medicine, an external advisory board with members from institutions across the nation and a team of Patient Advisors help guide the MU PCOR Center activities.

The ADAPTABLE Aspirin Study

Currently we are working with the Office of Clinical Research in the University of Missouri School of Medicine on a national study aspirin study funded by PCORI, called the ADAPTABLE Aspirin Study. This is a three-year $14 million dollar study to determine the best aspirin dosing for preventing heart attacks and strokes in individuals living with heart disease.

The ADAPTABLE (Aspirin Dosing: A Patient-centric Trial Assessing Benefits and Long-Term Effectiveness) study will be conducted through PCORnet, the National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network. Mizzou is a partner in the midwestern PCORnet center, the Greater Plains Collaborative (GPC) a network of 12 leading medical centers in 8 states committed to a shared vision of improving healthcare delivery through ongoing learning, adoption of evidence-based practices and active research dissemination.
