Physicians in the Division of Surgical Oncology specialize in the diagnosis, treatment and surgical management of cancers and pre-cancerous conditions of the breast, lung, pancreas, liver, esophagus, stomach, skin (melanoma and other skin cancers) and soft tissue (sarcomas).
These surgeons work in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with other cancer specialists to develop an individualized treatment plan for each patient to achieve the best possible outcome. Services provided by the Division of Surgical Oncology at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center include treatment for cancers of the:
- Breast
- Lung and chest wall
- Thymus
- Upper gastrointestinal tract (esophagus, stomach and small intestine)
- Liver (cancers that develop in the liver and cancers that are metastatic to the liver)
- Pancreas
- Adrenal glands
- Soft tissue (sarcomas)
- Skin (melanoma and other skin cancers)
Our surgical oncologists are experienced performing advanced surgical techniques including robotic surgery, laparoscopy, thoracoscopy and laser endoscopy.
