University of Missouri

MU SOM inline logoC-TRaP is housed in the University of Missouri (MU) School of Medicine-based Missouri Telehealth Network (MTN). It brings together collaborators from the School of Medicine, Sinclair School of Nursing, and Colleges of Health Sciences and Engineering. The MTN has been at the forefront of telehealth innovations and research since 1990s, increasing access to patient-centered care via telehealth for rural patients. MTN also operates one of the most robust and successful replications of ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) models - Show-Me ECHO – in the US.

The MU team leads projects on the use of remote patient monitoring, telehealth trends in rural areas, dose-effect of project ECHO participation and federated learning ECHO case sharing platform.

Collaborators from Michigan State University (MSU) in its Health and Risk Communication Center specialize in dissemination and implementation science. They bring experience in the role of communication in health behavior change and risk reduction. Their area of interest includes examining the facilitators and barriers of ECHO adoption, how ECHO participation might influence provider behavior change, and organizational impacts of ECHO and ECHO-like models.

Recognized as one of the nation’s leading telehealth programs, UMMC explores innovative ways to advance the modern practice of telemedicine. The Center’s expertise includes technology-enabled care, remote patient monitoring, and the integration of emerging technologies to improve access, enhance efficiency, and support better health outcomes.
