The one-year Advanced Endoscopy Training Program offers advanced training in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including but not limited to:
- Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
- Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
- Endoscopic Ultrasound-guided Fine Needle Aspiration/Biopsy
- Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR)
- Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)
- Single Balloon Enteroscopy (SBE)
This Training Program is designed for physicians who are planning a career in gastroenterology as an investigative and consultative advanced therapeutic endoscopist.
Appointment
The advanced endoscopy fellow has the appointment of Instructor in Medicine at the University of Missouri School of Medicine.
Successful applicant has to be eligible for a license to practice Medicine in the State of Missouri.
The advanced endoscopy training program program does not accept candidates with J-1 Visa.

This is a non-ACGME accredited training program training program.

Program History
The advanced therapeutic endoscopy training program recently designed and restructured to include hands-on training in Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Cholangioscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Fine Needle Aspiration/Biopsy (FNA/FNB), Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA), Single Balloon Enteroscopy (SBE) and Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR). Moreover, the training program will include exposure to Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) and Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM).
