Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowships
Our Cardiovascular Medicine Division offers three fellowships. The division holds didactic conferences each working day, and trainees are freed from all clinical responsibilities to attend conferences. The goal of all of our educational programs is to provide highly motivated fellows with the best possible clinical and research training, and to prepare them for long-term careers in academic medicine or private practice.

Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship
The Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Medicine Division at the University of Missouri School of Medicine consists of a two-year training program designed to provide advanced and comprehensive educational opportunities to physicians in the clinical and investigative aspects of the subspecialty. The first year is organized to provide intensive exposure to clinical patient care of adult and pediatric endocrine and metabolic disorders. The second year of fellowship is more loosely structured, permitting fellows to spend varying amounts of their time in both clinical and research activities. The Fellowship offers Scholarly and Clinical Opportunities, Research conferences, Basic Science conferences, Journal Clubs, and lectures.

Gastroenterology Fellowship
The Gastroenterology Division of Medicine at the University of Missouri School of Medicine offers a 3-year fellowship program with a primary mission to teach the art and science of gastroenterology to highly motivated and accomplished internists. Our gastroenterology Fellowship program has a long history of graduating outstanding gastroenterologists. Fellows have the opportunity for clinical training, research (clinical, translational, or basic). The GI division offers a variety of educational conferences including GI Didactic Conference, GI Board Review, Interesting Case Conference, Journal Club, Multi-Disciplinary Hepatobiliary Conference, GI Quality Conference, GI Research Conference, GI/Liver Pathology, GI Medical-Surgical Conference, and Visiting Professorships. The Division of Gastroenterology typically offers three to four positions yearly into our accredited three-year GI Fellowship program.
Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship
The Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology specializes in the prevention, detection and treatment of cancer and hematological disorders. The Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship program is comprised of clinicians and researchers who strive to provide high quality patient care as well as offer state-of-the-art treatment. Our Fellowship training program exposes fellows to outpatient care and consultation, as well as inpatient care of patients with cancer and blood disorders.

Hepatology Fellowship
The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Medicine Division offers a one-year non ACGME-accredited Hepatology Fellowship. The goal of this Fellowship program is to produce hepatologists who possess a range of attributes including the knowledge base of pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, and management of liver disease, indications and contradictions to liver transplant, diagnostic liver biopsy procedures, and appreciation of the humanistic and ethical aspects of liver disease. This Fellowship offers clinical, didactic and research training.
Infectious Diseases Fellowship
The Infectious Diseases Medicine Division at the University of Missouri School of Medicine offers a two-year program designed to provide opportunities for fellows to develop clinical competence in the field of infectious disease. Applications are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). The Fellowship offers a variety of educational conferences, such as Case Conference, Didactic Conference and Journal Club.
Nephrology Fellowship
The Karl D. Nolph, MD, Nephrology Medicine Division offers a two-year Fellowship program intended to provide advanced educational opportunities to physicians in clinical and investigative nephrology. The first year of our program provides intensive exposure to clinical nephrology. During the second year, fellows can divide their time between clinical and research activities. THis program offers weekly conferences, journal and research, renal biopsy, physiology, hypertension, core and clinical trials conferences, presented by both faculty and fellows, along with special presentations from visiting professors.
Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship
The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Environmental Medicine at the University of Missouri School of Medicine offers a fully accredited three-year Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship. The Division has primary patient care responsibilities for both the University and VA Hospital’s medical intensive care units. Training is obtained in all aspects of pulmonary and critical care. Primary rotations in critical-care medicine include a minimum of 12 months of responsibility for critically ill patients. All fellows participate in research blocks, the duration and intensity of which depends on individual career plans.

Rheumatology Fellowship
The Medicine Divisions of Immunology & Rheumatology at the University of Missouri School of Medicine offers a two-year Rheumatology Fellowship program. Fellows get extensive exposure to a broad spectrum of rheumatic diseases during the two years of clinical training. Fellows enhance their competencies in all the six ACGME domains of Patient Care, Medical Knowledge, Practice-Based Learning and Improvement, Systems-Based Practice, Professionalism and Interpersonal Skills. Fellowship offers clinical training and Case-based clinical conferences. fellow is expected to complete at least one research project resulting in a publication or a poster presentation.
