Clinical trials are a type of clinical research that involves testing whether a new intervention is safe and effective in people. The goal of these interventions is to treat or prevent a health condition and improve or stabilize patient outcomes.

Examples of interventions include a drug, device, exercise, diet, or approach to care. Clinical trials may compare an intervention to a placebo or compare two or more interventions to each other by randomly assigning participants to groups.

Within the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, our portfolio of clinical trials includes industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies that span conditions such as Stroke, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Charcot Marie Tooth Disease, Myasthenia Gravis, and Aging. Please see the table below for more details, including an overview of ongoing studies, contact information, and links to study details and investigator profiles.
