The Acute Care Surgery Divisional Research program at the University of Missouri is dedicated to advancing evidence-based surgical care through collaborative clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and educational scholarship.
Our division strives to strengthen the scientific foundation of trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care by developing and evaluating practices that improve outcomes for patients across Central Missouri and the broader Midwest region. As a Level I Trauma Center, we take pride in contributing to national trauma and acute care surgery research while simultaneously addressing the unique needs of the communities we serve. Through multidisciplinary collaboration with institutional partners, trainees, and national research networks, our goal is to translate innovative ideas into practical solutions that enhance patient care, expand regional outreach, and position Mizzou Acute Care Surgery at the forefront of surgical innovation and clinical discovery.
