The Department of Surgery has several excellent fellowship programs.
GeneraI Surgery Fellowship
Among the Surgery Divisions at the University of Missouri, General Surgery offers the Advanced GI Surgery Fellowship. This is a clinical fellowship with ample opportunities for clinical and basic science research. The focus of the fellowship is in the diagnosis and surgical care of complex gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, bariatric, thoracic, and advanced general surgical procedures. One Fellow is accepted per year.
Surgical Critical Care Fellowship
The Department of Surgery’s Division of Acute Care Surgery combines the disciplines of emergency general surgery, trauma care, critical care, elective general surgery and burn. A multidisciplinary team provides patient care, outreach education, and resident and fellowship education, including ACGME-approved fellowship positions in surgical critical care. Faculty members are active in both clinical and basic science research.
Vascular Surgery Fellowship
The Division of Vascular Surgery at the University of Missouri is committed to providing the best quality of care for our patients and the community.
We are the largest academic tertiary regional referral center for vascular surgery in Mid-Missouri, providing complex quaternary care at University Hospitals. As the region's only academic vascular surgery fellowship, we have built specialist programs for complex aortic aneurysm management, cerebrovascular disorders, peripheral arterial disease and limb salvage, dialysis access and venous disorders to serve the vascular needs of the region.
