Each summer, the School of Medicine provides a week-long Orientation and a White Coat Ceremony for incoming first-year students. Two or three rising second-year students will serve as orientation leaders for these two events.
Their tasks will include organizing specific events during Orientation, including providing two sessions; contacting and arranging session speakers and facilities; encouraging classmates to help with Orientation activities, the White Coat Ceremony and social activities; revising the Panacea; assisting with the organization of the White Coat Ceremony; and helping with white coat distribution at the ceremony.
This year’s Orientation will be July 29 – August 2, 2024. The White Coat Ceremony is currently scheduled for August 2, 2024. Tasks will require a significant time commitment throughout May, June and July and full-time attendance and participation during the entire Orientation week and the White Coat Ceremony. The stipend is $1,230.
