This Orthopaedic Surgery Clinical Research Fellowship is a 1-2 year opportunity available to Medical Students who did not match into a residency program, DO Students, and Gap year students. This placement will provide exposure to research, physicians, and medical education.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, effectively utilizing various data capture, research, and analytics platforms, focusing on workflow enhancement when needed, and getting expertise on studies and projects.
The role involves enrolling research subjects into various studies, ensuring compliance with consent procedures, and supporting the Principal Investigator/Co-Investigator with enrollment. Conducting research follow-up visits according to protocol and specimen collection, adhering to environmental health and safety guidelines. Drafting grant proposals, abstracts, and manuscripts, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting to the IRB, are integral parts of the position. This includes handling applications, amendments, and reviews. Beyond regular hours, the Fellow will participate in after-hour conferences, Resident Education, and Grand Rounds to prepare for residency.
