Transforming Lives Through Translational Research

Welcome to the home page for research in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Missouri. Our translational and multidisciplinary research team’s mission is to engage in novel, impactful, and collaborative investigation that addresses pressing issues for people with acquired and genetic neurologic and orthopedic conditions.

By leveraging state-of-the-art facilities and resources as well as cross-cutting expertise in pre-clinical and clinical research domains, we aim to advance precision health care for improved patient quality of life across the lifespan.

As part of our mission, we encourage academic and industry partnership to increase opportunities for patients to participate in research and access new treatments. We are also eager to help develop the next generation of scientists by providing training and mentorship to students, residents, and postdocs at the bench and bedside.
